App name: NavTrail. Developer: Constantin (individual developer, Bucharest, Romania). Effective date: 2026-06-18 (updated for v1.2 — accounts & cloud backup).
This page explains how to delete your NavTrail account and all data associated with it. It is the canonical procedure referenced by our Privacy Policy § 9 ("Right to erasure") and the in-app Settings → Personal data → Delete account and all my data flow.
NavTrail deletes your data on the spot — you don't need to email anyone or wait for a reply. There are two places to do it:
Open Settings → Account & backup, tap "Delete account", and confirm.
Either way, your account and data are deleted within a few seconds, the NavTrail data stored locally on your device (recorded tracks, packing inventory, maintenance log) is wiped, and the app signs you back in as a new anonymous user — so you can keep using NavTrail with a clean slate. No confirmation email is needed; the deletion has already happened.
The in-app button needs you to be signed in to the app. If you've already uninstalled NavTrail or can't open it, send an email and we'll delete your data manually:
NavTrail — Data deletion request2cd98987-4c5b-4e76-9279-5b1e430958d5), shown in the app under Settings → About, orWithout a user ID we can't guarantee identifying every record (anonymous-auth users have no personal info linking them), but we'll purge everything we can match — within 30 days.
An in-app deletion removes the following immediately (an email request: within 30 days):
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
Your account (Supabase auth.users row), including your email address if you created one | Deleted permanently |
| Recorded tracks backed up to the cloud — the summary rows and the GPX track files in private cloud Storage | Deleted permanently |
| Your packing inventory and maintenance records backed up to the cloud | Deleted permanently |
Your device / FCM push token (the devices table) | Deleted permanently from our servers; the token keeps existing on the push provider's infrastructure until the operating system revokes it (typically when you uninstall the app or clear app data) |
| Convoy memberships referencing you, and convoys you own | Memberships deleted; owned convoys are disbanded (remaining members removed, the convoy row deleted) |
| Hazard/obstacle reports and SOS alerts you created (including any description / contact hint) | Deleted permanently |
| Moderation reports you filed against other users' content (POI / hazard / SOS reports) | Deleted permanently |
| NavTrail data stored locally on your device — recorded tracks & waypoints, packing inventory, maintenance log | Wiped from the device as part of the in-app delete |
So that one person leaving doesn't degrade the shared community map, a few things survive your deletion but are permanently de-linked from your identity. After deletion, nothing here can be used to identify you.
| Data | What happens | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Community POIs you added (camping spots, springs, viewpoints, refuges, tyre-repair shops) | Stay on the shared map, but the owner link is cleared (created_by → NULL). They become community-owned and are no longer editable by you. | These are durable landmarks other overlanders rely on; deleting them would punish the community. |
| Rows where you touched other people's data — e.g. you resolved someone's hazard/SOS, or an admin granted you a role | Your user ID is removed from those rows; the rows themselves (which belong to others, or to the platform) are kept. | The other person's report/alert must survive — only your link to it is severed. |
| Server access logs (anonymized IP, timestamp, HTTP path) | Rotated by our hosting providers (Supabase, datahost.ro), typically within ~30 days | Operated by the providers, not by us directly; we can't selectively purge them, but they rotate naturally. |
| Aggregated counts (e.g. "total POIs created this month") | Kept | Contain no identifier of you. |
The in-app delete already wipes your recorded tracks, inventory and maintenance log from the device. A few other things live only on your device and are not part of account deletion (we never had them on our servers):
To remove these too, uninstall the app or use your device's Settings → Apps → NavTrail → Storage & cache → Clear storage.
